Engineered quartz
Non-porous, stain-resistant, never needs sealing. The default recommendation for families who actually cook.

What to know before you specify
- Edge profile changes the price: eased and bevel are standard, mitered waterfall adds material
- Book a slab-viewing before fabrication — no two natural slabs match a sample
- Full-height backsplash in the same stone typically adds 25 – 40% material
- Template happens after cabinets are installed; plan 10 – 14 days from template to install

Is quartz really maintenance-free?
Near enough. It never needs sealing and resists stains, but it isn't heat-proof — always use a trivet under a hot pan.
Will marble stain right away?
It etches (dulls) rather than stains from acids like lemon and wine. A honed finish hides etching far better than a polished one.
