Materials & indicative pricing

Ranges are budgeting guidance for NYC projects — final pricing depends on scope, access, and building requirements.

What to know before you specify

  • Every wet-zone wall gets a continuous membrane, not just the shower surround
  • Floor tile needs a DCOF slip rating of 0.42 or higher
  • Order 10 – 15% overage for cuts, waste, and future repairs
  • Epoxy grout in showers costs more up front and stays clean far longer

Large-format or small tile in a small bathroom?

Large-format on walls reads calmer and means less grout to clean. Keep small mosaic on the shower floor for slope and grip.

Can you tile over existing tile?

Sometimes on floors, almost never in a shower. If waterproofing is unknown, we take it down to the substrate.
